Control of second order strictly proper unstable systems with time delay

  • It is proposed a control scheme in order to stabilize second order strictly proper systems with two unstable poles and time delay in the input - output transfer function.

  • Necessary and sufficient conditions that ensure the stability of the feedback scheme are stated in terms of the time delay size and the time constants of the system.

  • Se enuncian condiciones necesarias y suficientes para la existencia de dicho esquema estabilizante.

  • Only four proportional gains and the process model are enough to obtain a stable closed loop behavior when the stability conditions are satisfied.

  • Tuning of the control structure proposed can be performed by mean of simple analysis based in classic control theory.
